Quartetto Gelato

Join us for an evening of music from around the world as Canada’s own Quartetto Gelato joins the NOC for an evening that will have you tapping your feet and singing along. Known for their “virtuosic showpieces, romantic tenor arias, pyrotechnical solos, blazing gypsy works and multi-instrumental mastery”, these musicians will melt your hearts and make you laugh with their sizzling energy, humour and marvellous musicianship.


Magical Mozart & Friends

Magical Mozart & Friends will feature several of the master’s most beloved works, including the Coronation Mass K. 317 and the Symphony No. 25, as well as Oshawa-based composer Luc Arsenault’s L’Histoire d’une Pionniere du Nord, a work that tells the story of his family’s struggles to forge a new life in the unforgiving north of Ontario. This program also features the delightful Concerto for Bassoon and Orchestra by Carl Maria von Weber, performed by former NOC principal bassoonist Patrick Headley


Come Meet the Orchestra!

You will not believe your eyes — or your ears! The Northumberland Orchestra & Choir welcomes a group of talented youth to centre stage in our Family Concert, Come Meet the Orchestra!

This hour-long program will feature former LJYO concert master Miguel Esteban, former LJYO and NOC principal horn Lucy Nesbitt, and two more young soloists performing with the NOC. Music lovers young and old will get the chance to meet the soloists and try out their favourite instruments after the concert.


Christmas in Northumberland

Our Christmas in Northumberland concert will bring a smile to many as the NOC, and Lindsay’s Kawartha Lakes Singers present choral highlights from Handel’s masterpiece The Messiah.

Alongside these classic choruses will be many contemporary seasonal favourites, including The Christmas Song, White Christmas, Let it Snow! and selections from the movies and Broadway.

And of course, our annual sing-along is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.


Peace & Joy

The 2019-2020 season concludes with Peace & Joy, a collaboration that welcomes back the Kawartha Lakes Singers in a performance of Karl Jenkins’ tour de force The Armed Man Mass. Pianist Christopher Goodpasture will also be featured in a performance of Gershwin’s delightful Concerto in F+.
